Description
Role details
Scale Up Counsel is recruiting for this function. The client’s name and org chart are not public here; they are shared in process with serious candidates.
We need a lawyer who can run complex customer situations in the field, not a back-room analyst. The job is post-sale-leaning: you make implementation stick, you surface product gaps with evidence, and you protect the company from overpromising.
Responsibilities
Map a customer’s real corporate, M&A, and adjacent advisory workflows, including where playbooks, approvals, and exceptions live; document what must change in product vs. in configuration.
Lead rollouts, training, and repeat visits until adoption is real, not a single kickoff.
Give product and engineering prioritized, reproducible examples when something breaks, with firm enough detail that they can file a useful ticket the first time.
Build and reuse playbooks and patterns; refuse one-off hero work when a pattern would serve the next customer.
Be calm and structured in client rooms and in writing; you are a lawyer in how you think, with delivery expectations that match a revenue-adjacent role.
Required
Substantive corporate, M&A, or closely related advisory experience in a firm or demanding in-house environment; you have been in the room for how deals and advisory streams actually work.
Track record in client-facing or implementation-heavy roles, not only internal memo work.
Clear written and spoken communication; you can chair a hard conversation with senior lawyers on the other side of the table.
Compensation
The full pay and equity picture is for people moving forward, not a range on this page.
